Description

Responsibilities of the City of Brook Park Department of Animal Control • Protect the community from those animals which constitute a nuisance or are dangerous or vicious. • Protect animals from cruel treatment or neglect. • Enforce the Animal Control codes in sections 505 and 506 of the codified ordinances of the City of Brook Park. • Operate and manage the City of Brook Park, Animal Control Shelter. • Provide care for all the animals in the custody of the shelter. • Responsible for capturing stray cats and dogs. • Responsible for trapping of wildlife. • Responsible for investigating bite reports. • Responsible for collecting dead animals, that does not have an owner. • Responsible for euthanizing wildlife and feral cats. • Responsible for educating the public on the values of responsible pet ownership. • Responsible for working with volunteers in the shelter and the community. • Responsible for working with other government agencies on animal control and environmental issues.
