Underground mining is a dirty job. But that wasn’t really what bothered one woman who works in the mining supply and service sector. After numerous trips underground and many awkward trips to the porta potty, she wondered why, with so many women underground nowadays, did they wear garments designed for a male’s body type. The reason was simple – they didn’t have a choice. There were no coveralls for women available on the market. No two women are made alike. Then why should you be expected to work in cumbersome and ill-fitting clothing? That’s when the concept of Covergalls was born. After years of consultation with industry women and exploring various patterns, materials and special features, the Covergall went from abstract design to final product. “Finally, something that fits properly,” many women say after trying on the Covergalls coveralls for women for the first time. Covergalls is inspired by the female mining experience but designed for women employed in many other industries. Covergalls is proudly Canadian. Our garments are designed in the mining hub of Sudbury, Ont. and manufactured in Canada.
