Description

The story behind the building “Edgy”, is the story we all live, some more than others. We live in exciting times, also contradictory times. We need foundations and our sense of community to live well, to thrive and flourish. Because humans are stubborn and habit-formed, we need each other to feel the belonging that inspires us as well as to inspire others. The “Edgy” Building will host the kind of community activities where the underrepresented, of our diverse communities can be heard and gather the feedback which strengths our feelings of self-worth and human relevancy. Mesa has always been a place, where family, education, and the essential values that sustain us have thrived. Mesa has grown in size and matured as a place where its diversity and its expression have become important to Mesa’s national identity as a city. Edgy will sponsor activities that enhance Mesa’s reputation as a place where all can be welcomed and listened to. Edgy will hopefully become a community space that provides the safety and place for diverse expressions. Edgy will become a place where our human fear of being left behind can merge with the powers of our courage that we can give to each other. Edgy will become a place where we practice learning to engage, to no submit to a sense of fate, but rather to carve out our individual and community destinies. Edgy is a place of cooperation and compassion, a place where those on a precipice can be welcomed back home.
