We were founded right after the first Earth Day in 1970, and are dedicated to mobilizing people around critical environmental issues. Our mission is to be a force for positive environmental change, and to fight for what's needed to protect the environment.

We are an organization based solely upon our members. Receiving no corporate or government money or support, we seek to truly represent the grassroots environmental concerns of our country.
