About FIRST Robotics: FIRST robotics is an international high school robotics competition. Each year students are presented with a challenge and must build robots to carry out the given tasks. The teams are challenged with restrictions like time restraints, size limits and weight limits. Each competition consists of a qualifying matches. The top eight teams in the qualification matches pick partners from any team ranked below them. This creates the alliance that then proceeds to the elimination round. The 3 team alliances play in the quarter finals, semi-finals and then the finals. The matches are determined by a best of 3 match-ups between the two alliances.

About BCHS: Burlington Central High School is located on Baldwin street, within Burlington, Ontario, Canada. The school is home of the Trojans, our mascot. Central is the longest operating school in Burlington, being constructed in 1922. Since then, BCHS has developed its own rich history in sports, the arts, manufacturing and other aspects of education BCHS has a strong program in manufacturing associated education called the Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) program. This program offers students the oppurtunity to explore the many disciplines associated with manufacturing. The SHSM program allows students from schools other than Burlington Central to join our team. Our great staff and our advanced facilities including workshops and computer labs allow our team to build great robots and have great results in the competitions.
