The museum opened in October 1996 with grant by the Independent Telephone Pioneers Association and funding and support from Aliant Communications. The museum is named in honor of the founder of the Lincoln Telephone Company.

National Museum of Roller Skating

The National Museum of Roller Skating is committed to enriching people's lives by increasing their understanding and enjoyment of roller skating's past. At the museum, we collect, preserve, and display the history of roller skating. Talladega Short Track

The track is a 1/3 mile high banked (18 degree) red clay oval with 400 ft. straightaways. The track has won National and Regional awards, including the North American Racing Insurance National Excellence in Safety Award. Stock car races every Saturday night including Super Late Models, Sportsman, Crate Late Model, Thunder cars, Street Stock and Hot Shots. Karts and Jr. Late Models every Friday night.
