The Herbert Read Gallery is the campus exhibition space at the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) at Canterbury.

Description

Founded in 1984 and rebuilt in 2001, and named after the poet, art writer and anarchist Herbert Read. Admission is free. Artists who have shown at the gallery include: Atelier Van Lieshout, Clio Barnard, Pryle Behrman, Gordon Cheung, Adam Chodzko, Nigel Cooke, Jeremy Deller, Peter Doig, Fischli and Weiss, Dany Hays, Susan Hiller, Roger Hiorns, Merlin James, Jeff Koons, Aernout Mik, Mike Nelson, Raymond Pettibon, Anselm Reyle, George Shaw, Jamie Shovlin, Mark Titchner.

How To Get to Herbert Read Gallery

Travel from London Victoria to Canterbury East Station (1h 13-30 mins), then by taxi or foot to the campus (10 minute walk). Canterbury West Station (which is a twenty minute walk from the gallery) is also served by trains from St Pancras and Waterloo (1h approx).
