Description

Het Kunstlievend Genootschap Pictura in Groningen werd opgericht in 1832 met als doel: 'de beeldende kunst en de nijverheidskunst in de ruimste zin van het woord aan te moedigen en te bevorderen.' Door middel van bijdragen, subsidies en donaties zet Pictura zich nog steeds in, om op non-profit basis de kunst in het Noorden te promoten in een museale omgeving. Pictura is gehuisvest in een mooi, monumentaal pand aan het Martinikerkhof in Groningen. In de sfeervolle zalen exposeren professionele kunstenaars van uiteenlopende richtingen en disciplines, maar de hoofdmoot is figuratief. Het aanbod variëert van solo- tot thema-exposities. Verkoop- overzicht- en historische exposities wisselen elkaar af. Een jaarlijks terugkerend evenement is de 'Lentesalon'. Daarin wordt aan pas afgestudeerd talent van de groninger Academie Minerva de kans geboden zich te presenteren (zie de agenda). Als u van kunst houdt, kom dan eens langs in Groningen. Het is zeker de moeite waard!
