The Lexington Kentucky Fire Department proudly serves the over 300,000 citizens spread over 280 square miles. The Lexington Kentucky Fire Department proudly serves nearly 300,000 citizens spread over 280 square miles. The Lexington Fire Department provides fire protection and emergency medical services along with a variety of other hazard interventions to our customers via 23 fire stations throughout the county. with a contingent of 561 sworn personnel, all of which are certified Firefighters and EMT's and over 200 of which are paramedics. We strive to provide the best service possible to our fellow citizens with special training and certifications in hazardous materials, technical rescue, aircraft firefighting, and dive operations.
