Agriculture and Countryside education and training at Myerscough College is provided at Further Education (up to A level equivalence) and Higher Education (BSc and FDSc). We have students studying agriculture, gamekeeping, countryside management and fishery management within our area. Teaching takes place either in the dedicated Rural Skills Centre or out on the farms and estate. There are 300 hectares of mainly grassland for the 220 dairy cows, 1000 sheep and beef cattle. Barley, wheat and beans are grown on 40 hectares. Gamecover crops are grown over the estate to provide cover for game birds released on to the estate by our gamekeeping students. There are a range of habitats to manage over the estate for our conservation students. The estate has the River Brock running through it together with various ponds, fish breeding and rearing facilities for our fishery management students. To deliver outstanding education and training to agriculture and countryside students
