With prevention, intervention, and recovery support services, TYR is leading the charge for children and families across the country. We stand for giving educators, parents and community members what they need to help students in recovery thrive. The Stacie Mathewson Foundation was founded in 2011 to focus on addiction recovery and prevention for young people and is committed to erasing the social stigma associated with substance use disorders. We work with communities to increase recovery success for students struggling with addiction. We use the real world experiences of students in recovery to educate the public about addiction and recovery and to erase the social stigma that blocks students and their families from seeking help. In 2013 the foundation created the 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Transforming Youth Recovery, to support educators, parents and community members in helping students in recovery thrive in the fullness of everyday life. The vision of the nonprofit is to transform youth recovery—one community, one school, one student at a time.

The Eddy House provides assistance to homeless, runaway, foster and other at-risk youth through a continuum of services. The Eddy House focus is on finding solutions to assist the underserved homeless and at-risk youth in our community. Through collaboration and constant feedback, we help young people become self-sufficient. In order to effectively deliver services, it is important that the youth recognize that we understand the challenges they face and that we have their trust. Our primary goal is to end youth homelessness in Nothern Nevada. Our specialty is care and comfort services and social and emotional learning.
