Description

Takes place every Thursday. This open mic is for all styles of music and spoken word performance, including poetry, comedy, storytelling, musicians and singers. Most of what you’ll hear is local original artistry, but we warmly welcome whatever you have to offer. Performer registration is from 7 to 8 PM. Performances start at 8 PM. No advance registration by phone is available. If you can’t come in time for registration the host may be able to add you to the end of the roster. If you don’t get the timeslot you want you may be able to swap with someone else. No special preference is given to kids, pros, or to those traveling long distances. The host calls names at 8 PM. The first person to sign gets first choice of timeslot, second gets second choice, etc. Excessive profanity and vulgarity are strongly discouraged. It is up to the discretion of the host to determine if a performance is inappropriate for 4J’s Java & More. Please bear in mind that 4J’s Java & More is not a bar and may have performers less than 16 years of age in the audience. There is a $5.00 admission fee. We have a full menu available along with beer and wine for purchase. Underage audience members will be carded and strictly monitored. Our hosts are: Ron Brown and soundman is Shawn.
