Description

We are a small family business based in the centre of Perth, Scotland specialising in 3.5 tonne horseboxes with vehicles for hire and sale. Whether its a day out to the beach, a weekend competing or emergency transport when you need it most - we can offer you the freedom to transport your horses wherever you like. All hires include fully comprehensive insurance and roadside recovery. Who can drive the box? - Anyone between the ages of 22-75 with a clean driving license, a certain number of motoring points allowed so please enquire. If you don't meet these criteria, don't worry, we may just need some more details from you before you hire. Do I need a special license? No, any competent driver with a regular car license can drive our box. How much does it cost? 1 day hire (weekday) - £95.00 1 day hire (weekend) - £115.00 Full weekend hire - £220.00 Half day hire - £75.00 Special offers will be posted on the Facebook page so please keep an eye on here! Longer periods of hire available upon request - just visit perthshirehorseboxes.co.uk or give us a ring for details. How many horses can the box carry? Our current box is stalled for two, built using ultra strong panels complete with reinforced steel bulkhead and whilst maintaining an impressive payload of 900kg. Drivers should ensure their cargo is within the weight limit. We are excited about our next box which is currently in build, with a higher payload ready for hire in summer 2015. How big is the horse area? The internal height of the horse area is 2.23m - to give you an idea this is between the height of the Ifor Williams 505 and 510 trailers - with a length of 2.3m to the breast bar (tail to chest!). Is the box regularly serviced? Yes, the box is regularly checked and maintained by the onsite team at Raad's Garage in Perth (see raadsgarage.co.uk for more details). What about insurance? Fully comprehensive insurance is included in the the price of every hire. What happens if we did break down? Hire includes 24 hour breakdown cover and roadside recovery, for both people and ponies! What documents do I need? The hirer is required to provide both the photo card and paper counterpart driving license, proof of address in the form of 2 utility bills no less that 3 months old and our completed hirer questionnaire. Additional drivers may be added by supplying the same documentation as above. Please note, addresses on your license and utility bills must match. If you do not have a photo card driving license you may use your paper license and other form of photo ID. If you are unsure, please get in touch. Located just 40 minutes from Edinburgh, 1 hour from Glasgow and we are just 10 minutes walk from Perth Train and Bus stations. We are also on several major bus routes.
