Described by Print Action magazine as “Canada’s leading social program with print ties”, the Eva’s Phoenix Print Shop has connected over 100 youth with career building opportunities in the vibrant graphic communications sector. Over 70% of youth who complete Foundations of Print connect with full-time work, and many return to school via our Scholarship Fund. We are particularly proud of our commitment to long-term follow-up that helps youth graduates sustain their gains and achieve self-sufficiency.

General Info

Phoenix Print Shop offers homeless and at-risk youth (ages 16-30) a practical way to secure work in a field with strong labour-market demand. We empower youth to secure work and stable housing, as well as the life skills required to sustain these gains. We believe that rather than focussing on youth’s problems and vulnerabilities, we make more progress by nurturing their strengths, resources and the ability to recover from adversities. To help youth understand their progress we use an evaluation method Resiliency Canada. It allows us to assess a person’s ability to understand and creatively draw upon their strengths in ways that help cope with adversity. Through our commitment to long term support we are in contact with over 90% of graduates. We engage graduates in meaningful activities, such as opportunities for professional development, scholarships, and monthly events.
