About Play Therapy: Play Therapy helps 4-12 year olds to understand and explore feelings and events they may find troubling. Play is a child’s primary means of communication and is fundamental for development. Play Therapy provides the child with a space where they can express themselves using the metaphor of play whilst within the safety of a therapeutic relationship. The benefits of Play Therapy can include an increase in self-esteem, decreased levels of anxiety and improved relationships with family and friends. Play Therapy focuses on behavioural and emotional difficulties. More details regarding Play Therapy can be found at the British Association of Play Therapists website: www.bapt.info Please feel free to contact me to discuss the suitability of Play Therapy for your child.
