"The goal of the Montessori classroom, no matter the age of the student, is the development of skills necessary for a productive and fulfilling life. The best of the academic curriculums are useless if the child does not develop inner discipline, integrity, and respect for others and oneself. The young person who faces the world of tomorrow armed with self-confidence and self-discipline is far more likely to achieve success and happiness. They will be prepared to meet any challenges that the "real world" may present, and will hopefully bring to that world a bit of the peace and joy they experienced in the Montessori environment." -Mary Conroy & Kitty Williams-Bravo Let that one soak in a bit...

"If education is always to be conceived along the same antiquated lines of a mere transmission of knowledge, there is little to be hoped from it in the bettering of man's future. For what is the use of transmitting knowledge if the individual's total development lags behind?" -Maria Montessori, "The Absorbent Mind" More relevant now than ever.
