Bazylika św. Ludwika w Nowym Orleanie – główny kościół rzymskokatolickiej archidiecezji nowoorleańskiej oraz katedra miejscowego arcybiskupa. Znajduje się we French Quarter (Dzielnicy Francuskiej) Nowego Orleanu na placu im. Jana Pawła II przy Jackson Square. Na dziedzińcu przed katedrą znajduje się pomnik prezydenta Andrew Jacksona.HistoriaPierwszy drewniany kościół powstał niedługo po utworzeniu miasta w 1718 roku. Kolejny wybudowano dziewięć lat później, spłonął on jednak w pożarze miasta w roku 1788. W latach 1789-1794 powstał nowy kościół pod wezwaniem św. Ludwika będący od roku 1793 katedrą nowo powstałej diecezji Luizjany i Obu Floryd. W roku 1819 dobudowano wieżę z zegarem i dzwonem. Z powodu rosnącej liczby wiernych pojawiły się plany przebudowy świątyni. Prace według projektu francuskiego architekta J.N.B. de Pouilly trwały w latach 1849-1850. Z pierwotnej katedry pozostał tylko niewielki procent elementów (m.in. dzwon).Katedra przetrwała dwa poważne huragany – z 1915 i 2005 roku.19 lipca 1850 świątynia podniesiona została do rangi archikatedry metropolitalnej, gdy utworzona została nowa prowincja kościelna.Tytuł bazyliki mniejszej kościół otrzymał od papieża Pawła VI w roku 1964.

The New Orleans Mint operated in New Orleans, Louisiana, as a branch mint of the United States Mint from 1838 to 1861 and from 1879 to 1909. During its years of operation, it produced over 427 million gold and silver coins of nearly every American denomination, with a total face value of over US$ 307 million. It was closed during most of the American Civil War and Reconstruction.After it was decommissioned as a mint, the building has served a variety of purposes, including as an assay office, a United States Coast Guard storage facility, and a fallout shelter.Since 1981 it has served as a branch of the Louisiana State Museum. Damaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, after over two years of repairs and renovations, the museum reopened in October 2007.As of April 2015, the museum's music exhibits include instruments used by some of New Orleans' notable jazz musicians, photographs, and posters, and are planned to open as the Louisiana Music Museum. The site is also a performance venue for jazz concerts, in partnership with the New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park and the private "Music at the Mint" organization.
