Our Philosophy The philosophy of the Stephen W. Hawking II STEAM Charter School will be to offer a program of study in which science, math, music and technology permeate nearly every facet of the classroom. An interdisciplinary project/hands-on/online base approach to learning that is rigorous and links student learning with the real world challenges. The over-arching goal of the Stephen W. Hawking II STEAM Charter School is to ensure that Pre-Kindergarten through grade 16 students are engaged in discovery, exploration, and problem solving and have sufficient knowledge of math, science, music and technology to engage in public discussions on related issues; are careful consumers of scientific and technological information related to their everyday lives; are able to continue to learn about math and science outside school; and have the skills to enter careers of their choice, including but not limited to careers in math, science, music and technology. The charter school will provide parents and students with expanded choices in the types of educational opportunities that are available within the public school system.
