New Hanover High School is a high school located in downtown Wilmington, North Carolina. New Hanover High is the oldest existing high school in Wilmington. The original building, designed by William J. Wilkins and constructed in 1919, underwent a complete renovation at the start of the 21st century. And, as stated above, it's Sandy's high school from the movie Blue Velvet. And don't trespass!

The gloomy ‘Deep River’ apartment block of troubled nightclub singer Dorothy Vallens (Isabella Rossellini), where Jeffrey witnesses one of the creepiest sex scenes in film history, is the Carolina Apartments, Market Street at Fifth Avenue. Oddly, it’s outside the apartment on Market Street that Curtis Hanson’s 1987 ‘Baltimore’-set thriller The Bedroom Window climaxes. Private property!
