The Tawsty Flower Bed & Breakfast

at 106 South 4th Street, Lewisburg

Prior to its new life as The Tawsty Flower B & B, 106 South 4th Street has been the home to many Lewisburg families, students and even a business or two. Originally built in about 1850 the building served as a typical two sided Pennsylvania "double home". In later years it housed a tea room and the restaurant "Higgins of Lewisburg". In the 1980's it was converted to a rooming house and college rental where it saw over 20 years of hard wear and tear. We purchased the home in 2005 and converted it to our residence and a Bed & Breakfast Inn. Careful planning went into the new floor plan. Knowing the home would be both a residence and an inn we laid out the rooms to allow complete freedom, privacy and convenience to our guests. Our guests need never feel like intruders and have the freedom to come and go 24 hours a day through the private guest entrance. A separate "guest only" lounge is available at all times with comfortable seating and a computer with high speed internet access. For your added convenience and comfort we have equipped each of our guest rooms with its own fully private bathroom. You can leave your car in our off street parking area and see Lewisburg by foot. Our downtown location puts you within a few blocks to over ten fine restaurants, cafes, theaters and Bucknell University. It is our goal to see that your stay with us is easy, relaxing and most of all enjoyable.

Copper Beech Manor
17 Market Street Lewisburg , PA 17837 null

Opened in Jan. 2009, Copper Beech Manor is named for the majestic Copper Beech tree that graces the rear gardens. Built in 1857, this large brick Federal was home to Jonathan Nesbit and his sister who were some of Lewisburg’s early residents. He is also credited with building the nearby Presbyterian and Lutheran churches.  An addition to the original home was built in 1861 which included a hidden room on the third floor, claimed to have been a refuge for slaves on the Underground Railroad.
