The School District of the City of York is a large, urban, public school district serving the City of York, Pennsylvania in York County, Pennsylvania. The district encompasses approximately 5sqmi. According to 2000 federal census data, it serves a resident population of 40,968. In 2010, the District's population rose to 43,769 people. The educational attainment levels for the School District of the City of York population (25 years old and over) were 73.2% high school graduates and 9.6% college graduates.In 2009, the District residents’ per capita income was $13,433, while the median family income was $30,712. It employed: 457 teachers, 315 full-time and part-time support personnel, and 35 administrators.
