John is doing well...he is coherent, sore and in/out of sleep. He got to eat lunch and supper. Orthopedic surgeon said they will not be operating on any of broken bones (clavicle, scapula, 4th rib, and right wrist) but will keep a close eye on him. Great team here at The Med ICU watching over him
Update on John Trainor. He has a broken rib, wrist, and collar bone & shoulder. He's still in ICU and they are keeping a close eye on him because of his AFIB (heart condition). He was in Southaven when the accident occurred. Someone pulled in front of him in a truck and he went thru the windshield and bike is in pretty bad shape. He's in a lot of pain but resting and not able to receive phone calls or visitors. Once he is cleared for calls & visitors we will let you know. Meanwhile, keep him, Margaret and the family in your thoughts & prayers.
Margaret RoperJohn Trainor 22 hrs · Edited · John started physical and occupationall therapy yesterday. He sat up in a chair for several hours and walked ten feet. The PT people will assess him and decide whether he needs to go to a rehab facility when he leaves here. He has to be able to walk a certain amount of feet and be semi independent with daily functions. He is still in a great deal of pain. The staff in the ICU units have been very attentive and caring. I read john all your posts and he really appreciates the outpouring of support and friendship you all have shown. Thanks. I will update more as I find out.
Margaret RoperJohn Trainor 1 hr · John is doing much better. Still in a lot of pain. He may be moved to Stepdown today or stay in ICU until he gets out. Physical therapy has to get him up and walking before he can be released. Pls, no phone calls or visits. He desperately needs his rest. Thx for all your prayers. Call me at the house if you need info and leave a message and I will Call you back
Update on John Trainor. (Gunny) is going to a step-down unit today & then Baptist Memphis but he doesn't want any visitors until he notifies us. Thanks (info Provided by Peder Fugere)
Please keep John Trainor "Gunny" in your prayers. He was involved in a motorcycle accident yesterday and is currently at Region One (the Med) in ICU. No visitors at this time. No further information is available yet. Lift him up in prayer.
I want to thank the members of Veterans Thunder and all the volunteers that came out and supported us at the VAMC today. I would also like to thank the Knights of Columbus of St. Williams Church in Millington TN. for coming out and preparing all the fish and hush puppies. Also, a big thanks to the Blues City Posse Reguladores who always show up in force as well as members of the other bike groups that were there. It takes very special people to take time on July 4th to help serve our veterans a well deserved meal. We had a great time and I am sure the vets did also! Thanks again! Also a BIG THANKS to all of the vendors who donated food items and other products that make the meal a HUGE success! If you took any photos and would like to share them send them to firstname.lastname@example.org
