Encourage and enable people with dyslexia, regardless of their age and abilities, to reach their potential.
What we do Empowering people with dyslexia to reach their full potential. Our mission is to help everyone reach their full potential. To make that happen, we have set three clear goals: •provide high quality services to people with dyslexia •influence change at a national level •support our network of branches, members and partners Making change happen We see talking to the Scottish Government, Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs) of all parties and other policy makers as one of our most important jobs. The Cross Party Group on Dyslexia was set up in the Scottish Parliament in 2005 and is made up of MSPs and other partners to: •raise awareness of dyslexia; •promote good practice in education and the workplace; and •support families affected by dyslexia. For more information on the Cross-Party Group membership or meetings, visit the Dyslexia Scotland Webpage. By working together, we have created a definition of dyslexia. Adopted by the Scottish Government, Dyslexia Scotland and the Cross Party Group in January 2009, the definition is a crucial step. It means less confusion – allowing dyslexia to be identified quickly, to be recognised in relevant legislation, and better supported.
