Description
The Anatomy Rooms is a new multi-arts production and studio space situated in a historic building in Aberdeen City centre. Formerly the anatomy wing of Aberdeen University's Marischal College it will be the first independent studios and production centre in the city. The centre will offer: private, shared and open plan workspaces, project rooms, offices and a small workshop and will accommodate up to twenty-two resident practitioners. Opening in autumn 2015 the vision is a vibrant hub for, exploration, production and presentation of visual art, design, new music and sonic art whilst encouraging new collaborations, methods of engagement and opportunities for practitioners and the wider Aberdeen community. Based around a studio facility The Anatomy Rooms will develop a unique template that will see close partnership working to establish an exciting program of events, engagement and educational activity that aims to complement existing activity available across the city. Information on upcoming studio application procedures along with the initial program will be announced soon. This initiative is supported by Aberdeen City Council.
